Amphetamine

[安非他命].Amphetam[20101121-0033369]

It’s said that this is a good movie to watch in the gay community, so I sat down to watch this movie last night. Kafka is a cute local Hong Kong guy but not well educated because of his poor family, while Daniel has a good job who comes back to Hong Kong from Australia for his business. There was lots of trouble caused by Kafka and it’s hard to understand why Daniel would save him in so many ways. Maybe Daniel was just fond of the intimacy that Kafka can provide or just as simple as Daniel says in the movie that Kafka doesn’t hook up with other men. The movie started a little chaotic just as if someone has taken the drug. The story ended sadly because Kafka has been taking drugs to do crazy things. It’s natural and understandable that Daniel would leave him in the end for his promotion in Australia as well as his disappointment in Kafka, braking his promise. It’s more realistic to end this way but it’s sad that Kafka’s fate is just a tragedy from the beginning to the end. The whole theme of the movie was quite depressing and it wasn’t erotic even though there were lots of nudity scenes. It would be worth watching once for me, but I don’t think I would be willing to watch it again simply because it’s a sad movie.
